Project Outline
The Casa Loma West Parking Lot Improvements project was a comprehensive infrastructure enhancement initiative aimed at modernizing and upgrading the parking facilities to improve safety, functionality, and overall visitor experience. Undertaken in 2022, this project involved multiple critical upgrades to the parking lot, including lighting, concrete structures, drainage systems, and pavement restoration.
A key component of the project was the installation of six new light poles, ensuring better visibility and security throughout the parking area. The project also entailed the removal and replacement of the existing concrete island and parking booth, optimizing traffic flow and entry efficiency. To reinforce safety and structural durability, new concrete barrier curbs were installed, providing enhanced vehicle containment and protection for pedestrian pathways.
A significant upgrade to the stormwater management system was also implemented with the installation of a new infiltration gallery tank and storm line sewer system. This addition improved drainage efficiency, reducing surface water accumulation and mitigating potential flooding risks.
The parking lot underwent a full-depth excavation, followed by asphalt paving replacement, ensuring a smooth and durable surface capable of withstanding high traffic volumes. Finally, new line painting was applied to the entire parking area, improving space organization and vehicle guidance to maximize parking efficiency.
This extensive redevelopment project not only revitalized the West Parking Lot but also enhanced the accessibility and overall aesthetics of the site, aligning with Casa Loma’s commitment to providing a top-tier experience for its visitors.
